Salute to the King

“And I know if I’ll only be true to this glorious quest, that my heart will lie peaceful and calm when I’m laid to my rest”

-Elvis Presley, Impossible Dream

Elvis’s funeral was held on August 18th, 1977. His family held a service at Graceland and he was later laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery. The shock of his death still lingered in the air. Friends, family, and fans watched the white hearse drive out of the gates of Graceland. This is when everything seemed real. The king was truly gone.Elvis Presley Procession

His body would later be moved to the Meditation Garden in the backyard at Graceland. Many people tried to steal his body and the family thought it would be best if he returned home. As an Elvis fan, being able to visit his home, Graceland, and being able to pay respect to him with extremely close proximity is an incredible thing.

There are no fans in the world like Elvis Presley fans and I am so proud to be one. This time of year is never easy for an Elvis fan. Whether you were alive during his lifetime or not, thinking about a life that ended far too soon for someone who had the world at their fingertips, is absolutely heartbreaking. The footage I have shared is even difficult for me to watch without crying.

Rest in peace Elvis. LLTK!

Blushing Elvis

Until we meet again.
